What Do We Do?

Scientific Touch was started in 2011 for the FIRST Lego League Jr (FLL Jr) season, Snack Attack. After doing one more year of FLL Jr, Super Seniors, we went on to do 4 years of the FIRST Lego League (FLL). In the 2016-17 FLL season (Animal Allies), we made it all the way to the world festival in St. Louis. For accomplishing this, we received recognition from Governor John Kasich and the Southwest Ohio Regional Liaison Office of Ohio Governor, Stephen Caraway. After the 16-17 FLL season, the team decided to take the next step and participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). We have participated in two FTC seasons thus far. We have learned a tremendous amount from our long journey in FIRST and are very excited for the future of Scientific Touch.

Along with robotics, our team is involved with our community. We travel to various events to show the community what we do. Outreach has shaped our team into what we are today. We ourselves have been mentored by experienced teams and we want to pass down this knowledge by mentoring other teams. We volunteer as referees and practice judges in the FLL season and we have mentored a few FTC teams. In this manner, we have gained so much knowledge as an FTC and FLL team. We have gained the experience of mentoring and are eager to continue in the 2019-20 FIRST season.
